Random

Some days you just need to break out of the shell have fun and learn that being too serious will only make the journey here harder than it needs to be. It's not a crime to have fun. Just be you, follow what you believe and show everyone your true self. You will earn more respect than ever thought possible. Try new things and be free. It was best put by Jim Morrison (1943 - 1971). He said, "Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free." with that said don't be scared to be random every once in a while, break out of that shell and be free.

Loss of life

We lose people we love every now and then and it's hard to handle especially when they were someone close at one point in our life. The things I think and encourage everyone to remember is that we will see them again. It will not be in this life but I know we will see them again.
David Harkins, a british poet and artist, said, “You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back.Or you can do what she'd want:smile, open your eyes, love and go on.” Let this remind us that while we lose someone that was special we can share what they shared by living on, being positive, and trying to share part of that person with everyone we come in contact with.

change and farewell

If you have ever taken a moment and evaluated life, I'm sure you would find that the two most consistent things in this life are change and farewell. It's kind of like an out with the old in with the new type thing where you can't change something without saying farewell to something else.
An example could be found in ying and yang, where you cant experience good without out experiencing something bad. It is just one of those endless cycles that repeats over and over. Another example would be a new job, in your change to a new position you have to say farewell to the people you used to work with and embrace the change of the new people you will be working with. While you may see the old people time and again you must say farewell to the way things used to be.
In the words of Washington Irving, "There is a certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse! As I have often found in travelling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one's position, and be bruised in a new place." Not all change is bad, but not all change is good, just like in the quote. As we have seem and know all too well change is essential and with that change comes a new farewell. With that farewell comes a new opportunity for growth and development.

Speech

"Be a craftsman in speech that thou mayest be strong, for the strength of one is the tongue, and speech is mightier than all fighting." The quote given is by Maxims of Ptahhotep and how true it is. When I think about it, it reminds me
of how words truely affect people for a longer period of time than any physical damage done. While injuries will heal, words tend to leave a lasting impression and often take longer to forget.

Problems

Albert Einstein said, "The significant problems we face can not be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." How true this is, especially when you think back to problems you have encountered in your own life. It doesn't matter how big or small the problem is or how long it took to solve. By the end of each problem we have grown and learned something unforgettable. Which means we have made it to a new level.

Tough as Nails?

Have you ever thought about the saying tough as nails? I was thinking about it on my way home and decided nails arent very tough. What is so cool about being tough as nails when it only takes a hammer to keep you down. So what's your hammer? Is it work, school, family, girls or guys, yourself, maybe even your ego, what about your lack of education? Bottom line is that nails may hold things together for a time but it doesnt take much to keep them down. Why cant we say tough as a mountain? After all a mountain is tough. It is also ever changing and adapts to changes. Its face never the same yet always beautiful and its not going to move for you. The only way to get past it is to go over it or put a tunnel through it. So I dont know about you but the next time I hear someone say they are "Tough as Nails" I'm going to laugh to myself.

Miracles

When thinking of a miracle most often times we think of religion, specifically healing of the sick or afflicted, better defined as an act of God. However in reviewing my own life and hearing stories from others I believe a miracle is much more than what our human minds can comprehend. In my opinion a miracle should be without definition because it’s a miracle when a new person enters into your life for a short time. Maybe there is a prompting to go a different route to work which allows you to get there safe and unharmed. Most importantly it is a miracle that we have our life’s and the freedom to choose what we want to do and where we want to go in life.
When a new person enters into your life they are often defined by how they leave your life. Maybe there was a fight, maybe it was in their best interest to leave or maybe there were new experiences to be had and new people to be met. The miracle is that that person was in you life for a time and what you take away and learned from them. Maybe that person was extremely compassionate, maybe they were very service oriented or maybe they were just a good person. The miracle is that you had an opportunity to be with that person for a short time to learn, grow, and experience something even if it was just a friendly smile.
Have you ever had a feeling or prompting that you should go a different way to work so you do? Then when you get to work you realize that you were in more traffic than normal and it took a little longer to get to work. Well have you ever taken an extra second to ask what would have happened if you went the other way? Maybe you would have been car jacked or stuck in traffic a lot longer. It is always possible that you could have been in an accident. But you followed that feeling or prompting and you got to work safe. That feeling and change in plans was a miracle.
Now have you ever asked the question where did this world come from and how did we evolve? There are way to many answers to these questions and the bottom line is that there is no proof to any of the answers given. The one question that will never be answered with hard proof in this life is where the first cell came from. You know the one that started it all. So the biggest miracle of all is that we have this life and get to choose what we want to do and where we are going to take ourselves. The sad thing is this miracle is often the most overlooked.
In life there are many mysterious things. But out of all of life the greatest mystery is a miracle. It’s that one moment in time when God reaches out and touches a life. Now how that life is touched is determined by the viewers, I guess you could even say that it is all in the eyes of the beholder. I believe it is necessary for us to understand that miracle is a miracle no matter how big or small it may be. It is also important to realize that when you look deep into life and pay attention to the details you see that miracles happen everyday but often times they overlooked. Lastly we should remember that miracles are not comprehendible to the human mind and should be without definition.
